Live Performance: HTC performing "What Can I Do For You"

Happy Friday, Family!

This is how we started our morning. What can I do for you? What can you do for me? Sharing with you what is one of my favorite Labelle songs written by Nona Hendryx, and now getting a fresh rework by Grammy® Nominated artist Helen Bruner and Terry Jones who individually and collectively have worked on many recording projects as songwriters, producers and vocalists.

“Bruner and Jones' songs have reached number one on the Billboard Charts, featured on Film/TV soundtracks, most notably the blockbuster film "The Score" starring Robert DeNiro. Their voices can be heard on national commercials and their songs have been licensed to numerous international compilations. Bruner and Jones take the driver's seat on their cd "Hollyhood" writing, producing, performing and mixing "Hollyhood." "Hollyhood" held the number one spot for five consecutive weeks on the Official UK Soul Charts. The documentary film "Indie Soul" about the trials of Helen & Terry as independent artists will premier at the Congressional Black Caucus Film Festival September 24, 2011.

ChinahBlac has gained fans worldwide, touring as a background vocalist for Grammy winners The Dave Matthews Band, Jill Scott, vocal director for Erykah Badu, and a list of others. Blac stepped into her own light and self-released her first cd, "Eugenia Shata" which critics have compared her to the likes of Chaka Kahn. This aggressive soul siren is WHITE HOT! Helen, Terry, and Chinah (H.T.C.) have come together to remake the Labelle classic "What Can I Do For You" released on September 13, 2011 on the Philerzy Productions label. The ladies keep the continuity of the 1974 original song while adding their own style. "What Can I Do For You" is produced by Helen & Terry while all three ladies share vocal production credits.”

Video: Josh From Blaze, ChinahBlacc "Till You Come Home"

Happy Funky #FollowFriday, Family,

I was very late in finding out about the release of  "Till You Come Home," and just wrote about it here finally this week.  However, it has only been only two days now since the official posting of Josh From Blaze's and Chinablac's video on YouTube.  If you have not seen it yet, I recommend it.  It will put you in a good mood.

REVIEW: Josh Milan from Blaze and Chinahblac; Groove Junkies "Far Away" TC Moses

Dear Family,

This has been out since August but your dj just found it today and added it to Funk Sanctum posthaste. Josh Milan from Blaze was one of my first "friends" on MySpace.  I have not partied with these househeads because at my age, pacing is important.
